After trekking through the woods with our new Nikon D7000 around my neck, it donned on me, “I need a new camera strap!”
The D7000, nicknamed “The Brick,” came with the standard Nikon camera neck strap. Too short, too narrow, and it says NIKON in big yellow letters. Other than it’s incredible discomfort, wearing it screams, “Hey look at me, I’m a Nikon fanboy!” Not the best for traveling. It was definitely time for a new neck strap.
Going online and looking at the various camera straps and their reviews I decided on the Crumpler Industry Disgrace. It’s name alone brought a smile to my face. But the reviews were really good and most people swore it was the most comfortable camera strap they had ever owned. Sold! I ordered it directly from Crumpler and noticed that they offer delivery by bicycle messenger service… but only if you are in Manhattan. Nice!
When it arrived yesterday I took it out of the package and looked at it. Yup, it looked like a camera strap. And then I turned it over and laughed!!! This is what I saw:
Not only can you carry your camera around in comfort, but you can do so while carrying two beers!
July 13, 2011 Update: After using this camera strap for almost 4 months, I love it! It really is the most comfortable camera strap I have ever tried. In fact, we just purchased another one for Kerri’s camera, an Olympus EPL-1. If you are looking for a new camera strap, you will love this one.
