Photo of the Week: Kootenai Falls

On our way to Glacier this weekend, we stopped at a wayside in the middle of nowhere somewhere in northwestern Montana. Our car was showing that the temperature outside was 100 degrees and so we weren’t planning on stopping for long. Once out we noticed a trail heading off into the forest, and being the ever adventurous type, we followed it. We came to a sign that pointed to “Kootenai Falls” to the right and “Swinging Bridge” to the left. Since it was insanely hot, we went to the falls. Once we got near the falls the temperature dropped a good 20+ degrees and it felt great. We enjoyed the falls for a bit and got a video, which I will upload later. The photo does not do the falls justice for the raw power of the water.
