While visiting the Giant White Buddha in Nha Trang, Vietnam I came across this Buddhist nun. I asked her through pantomime if I could take her photo, and she agreed with a small nod. She never spoke and I have no idea if she knew English, but she looks like she has had a long and interesting life in Vietnam. I bet she has some amazing, sad, and even shocking stories of life before, during and after the war with the French and the Americans. Although I can’t tell her story with words, I feel she tells her own story with this photo.
