One of the reasons we traveled all the way to Borneo was to see the Proboscis Monkey, also known as the long-nosed monkey. To see these monkeys we had to travel to the Bako National Park, which is only accessible by boat. We spent 3 days at the park and saw them on several occasions. Their noses are very unique and reminded us of the legendary American singer and actor, Jimmy Durante. They made a strange noise that reminded us of Stephen Spielberg’s ET character.
I have wanted to visit and photograph these twin monster towers ever since they were first finished in 1998 and claimed the title of tallest building in the world. While they no longer claim the title as tallest singular building, they still hold the title as tallest twin towers in the world. This is one impressive structure!
The small town of Hoi An, Vietnam transforms into a very magical place at night. Along the river young girls sell floating lanterns that you can purchase and release into the river.
While visiting the Giant White Buddha in Nha Trang, Vietnam I came across this Buddhist nun. I asked her through pantomime if I could take her photo, and she agreed with a small nod. She never spoke and I have no idea if she knew English, but she looks like she has had a long and interesting life in Vietnam. I bet she has some amazing, sad, and even shocking stories of life before, during and after the war with the French and the Americans. Although I can’t tell her story with words, I feel she tells her own story with this photo.

As everyone else was gawking at seeing the sun, I setup my camera to shoot Angkor Wat engulfed in the last rays of the day. Enjoy…
